Hello Graphic Novel Appreciators!!!
First, I want to apologise for not putting up a post for last month’s book. With all the organising for the Mancstercon, I completely forgot but that’s still no excuse so sorry about that!!!
Anyway, for September’s Mad Gng, we will be discussing Ordinary Victories, written by Manu Larcenet and illustrated by Patrice Larcenet. The story revolves around a Photographer called Marc, who is tired of his art and suffers from intense Anxiety attacks. The story also involves a patient girl he meets, another woman who against all odds takes a liking to him and a neighbour who for all intense and purposes seems to be a likable individual until you find out about his involvement in the war... The book is an exploration of Marc’s life, along with how he changes overtime, looking at how his views grow and change as well as the things he learns about aspects of life like love, jobs and politics to name a few.
As per usual, remember to bring £2 as a suggested donation to the Madlab as well about a fiver if you are interested in ordering food.
