Midwest Affiliate,
I am excited to say that all parts of the Triple Action Plan are now ready to go in their entirety. I strongly encourage all of you to participate in this year long initiative to promote awareness of three devastating diseases that affect individuals in the communities of which we reside in, and those that surround us. This is a new and exciting program that will engage our universities in between conferences and spread the impact of MACURH throughout the country. Many of you have expressed the thirst for programs like this, and so it is my expectation that many of you who have been vocal on this matter participate in this initiative.
There are three easy steps, and you can earn spirit points that will go towards a year-long award at NACURH 2010.
1. Sign the pledge. The statement is an acknowledgment of your intent to participate in this program. It will provide the Triple Action Plan committee a sense for ways in which they can assist you this year in making your goals a reality. Furthermore, this is a great way to hold yourself and your institution accountable for your pledge to spread awareness of this cause. You can now access the pledge statement at our website or at the following link:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&formkey=dGVXWEN0MkNVdEgzUkNkTzUtT0lrTVE6MQ#gid=0.
2. Spread awareness on your campus through programs or passives.
3. Raise funds to donate to the Alzheimer's Association. I have attached to this e-mail a PDF document that has been prepared by the Triple Action Plan Committee to provide you with different ways in which you can raise funds and spread awareness on your campus. I encourage you to look into those various mechanisms or come up with unique ideas on your own.
Lastly, please join our group on Facebook. You can access the Facebook group by searching "MACURH Triple Action Plan"
We want to hear what you are doing, so please send us e-mails, post videos and ideas on the Facebook wall, and share some of your events with the region!
Best,
Sammy
