writer goes back to the days in which the MAC had a better rating then the MoValley and now we've fallen behind a LOT of conference, including the CAA (Colonial Athletic) which has many teams up in the top 100 such as Drexel, Hofstra, ODU, George Mason, etc.

 

I've said many times the MoValley put all their eggs into hoops and de emphasized FB (they play in the I-AA Gateway Conference).

 

All of their arena except So. IL (new one on the drawing board) are very good.  We have some BAD arena. (CMU, I believe, has completed their BIG fund raising drive and the $ to build a new arena).

 

The MAC tries to be 'all things to all sports..."

 

Can we have our cake (FB) and eat it too (hoops)????

 

Conversely, MAC teams are making a living playing the UofMs, OSUs, etc. etc. and getting a cool 500 - 750K for fielding a FB team good enough (i.e., be I-A) to be invited to the big stadia and take their lumps in return for some BIG GREEN BUCKS.
