MACS2: summit calculations

Dear T. Liu and colleagues,

I had a question regarding the summit calculation in MACS2. I’ve found some information concerning this topic in one of the google groups (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/macs-announcement/c__KCotHsok). However, the explanation that was given there was not completely clear for me. Is it possible to give me a more detailed explanation of this calculation?
