I am a bit confused - i have been using xres since MM bought out fauve and
i like it. For the work that i do, i find it pretty efficient, and i even
prefer using it to photoshop 4 (which i also use from time to time - got it
bundled with a scanner)

BUT

when i look at the products listing on MM home site, it is not listed. i
know it used to be, in the "the other products" listing we have sound edit
and fontographer, but no xres.

Now i haven't been around these parts lately, so am a bit out of touch with
the news - can someone please tell me if there is an upgrade path from xres
to something else if MM no longer lists the product?

Obviously, Macromedia has given up Xres !!!!
(means that'll no longer assume development)

Consider nomore Xres as a MM product !!
Sorry, bud ...

Hi Martin, xRes is listed at
http://www.macromedia.com/software/more/index_support.fhtml as part of
the "More Products" section. For upgrade information, please call

i am back

thank you for the reply; yes i found this, but really! the last update
issued was at 6/5/95

now about that upgrade... i don't live in the US and am not going to call
that number. i have emailed MM in the past and got generally uninformative
information about this product's upgrade path. perhaps someone could
elaborate in this NG instead?

BTW, i own licenses for Freehand, Director 6 (can't afford the upgrade at
this stage), Fontographer as well as Xres, so I think i have made a fair
commitment to the product line. i haven't got a problem with any of the
products that i use. i actually really like xres. i just want to know, will
there be an upgrade path? this infromation is not offered under the site
you refered me to.

regards
