I need to recommend a hosting service to a client.

Within 3 weeks we will be able to do it ourselves - but right now we have a
client who need immediate UK hosting.

Mr Sangler was very helpful when we contacted him recently about the Chicago
Pizza Pie Hosting Service (and they have everything we need)... but our
client is insisting on a UK provider.

I have spoken to most of the larger providers (including CIX and NetBenefit)
and none of them have an NT package that allows for encryption of orders
between their mail server and the company who will be fulfilling the order.

Just to be clear - all of them can offer SSL...

...but as soon as you want to encode the placed order...

...they turn their palms to the skies and touch their shoulders against
their ears (some kind of ritual gesture I guess).

Here are some quaint quotes...

CIX: "But honestly - who is going to sit their fishing for credit card
numbers on the WEB anyway ?"

NetBenefit: "Had to check with my technical manager. Sorry, we don't offer
ASP encryption. Sounds like we should"

Nildram: "Adam is away on holiday and he is the only person who would know
anything about that"

If anyone has :-
a) any more 'quaint quotes'
b) any suggestions on suitable UK hosting

Please let us know !

Do my fav lil microwave pizzas really originate from Chicago? Hmm they are
called Chicago town pizzas, mebbe it is actually a town called Chicago
rather then a city called Chicago.

Some of our clients have used Demon in the past and I have to say that -
based on their stories - I would not touch Demon with a very long barge
pole.

If you have had experiences with Demon that were good... Please let us know

I think very highly of Halnet. www.halnet.co.uk Peter Smith is the man to
speak to.
