Ensure that the 'Download Signed ActiveX controls' option is set to Prompt.
Ensure that the 'Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins' option is set to Prompt.

What is the exact message in Firefox? It shouldn't be "unable to authenticate installer".

I'm having the same problem too. Did you try disabling popups? Also, another
thing I tried is to logining in as administrator mode. That still didn't solve
the problem. I appreciate any advice that you can give to help this. Thank you

I think having problems is always normal if you are using Vista. LOL! Ever
since I started using Vista it seems like things don't work as well, even
though I have more RAM etc than ever. Blah.
Thank you.

I had a problem integrating flash in my http://www.dinamis.eu/print-shop.html
website a while ago, I managed to solve it with a fix from dreamweaver for
Joomla. Have you tested it ?
For other people if you can not solve the problem after following these steps,
you may want to check your hardware configuration to see if there are other
conflicts. The simply way to do that is to go to your hardware manage section,
which can be accessed from your control panel.

i've had family members continuously bug me about this and I've never been
able to fix this until now!
What an absolute find this forum thread is - thanks Adobe and all who have
sailed in here.
I had the same problem and it was easly fix by disabling the installer and try
to install it manually by finding the setup in one of those folders. I hope
this helps you to get the thing rolling if not feel free to post here.
Thanks, :cool;
