Up until a few days ago I was happily able to watch video clips on the BBC
website. Since, I am advised I no longer have the required version of flash
media player. I follow the link to install the required version (have done this
mutlitple times now) and Version 10,0,22,87 has been installed successfully.
After reboots and many attempts to watch the video on BBC I still get advised I
no longer have the required version. So I have gone straight to Adobe updates
directly and installed v11. This still didn't work. So I have re-installed
Version 10,0,22,87 as directed via the links given in the BBC site again and
still cannot watch the media. Can anyone advise what I am doing wrong? I follow
the links, install the updpates, restart (even though this is not prompted) but
still cannto play news items. I run windows XP with internet Explorer 7.0 so am
installing for correct operating system. :confused;

Is it the Flash Player or Shockwave Player you are having difficulty with?

I think its the flash player. BBC directs you to the flash update. But good
point as it was the shockwave player that I installed from Adobe direct. Just
checked programmes and V11 of shockwave player is installed last. But I can't
see the flahs player updates even though I have been advised they have
installed correctly.

Just to advise, I have done the install again, its flash player. I am advised
the install has been successful. Rebooted. Am unable to see flash icon or
updates in programmes in my computer. I am stil unable to play desired media in
BBC site. Version 10,0,22,87 installed.

You should ask on a forum dedicated to the Flash Player.

FWIW: when I look in my Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs dialog I
see "Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin" listed and when I "Click here for
support information" the version is 10.0.22.87. If I click "Adobe Flash
Player ActiveX" (which I assume is what IE uses) the version is 10.0.1.218
