Hello everyone!

At youtube.com the following error message appears: "Hello, you either have
JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest
Flash player."

- JavaScript works
- I'm using Mozilla Firefox AND Internet Explorer, but it doesn't work either
way.
- I tried to follow this new "alert message" at adobe, but the flash player
stillt does not work

Yesterday, I was still able to watch some videos at youtube. But then I
installed the Adobe Reader (and also Adobe Air), what was the
activator of the error of flash player.
I uninstalled all adobe programms, but it did not help.

I would be really happy if someone could help me!

Thanks!

Hi, I've also got exactly the same problem, just upgraded Adobe Reader and now Flash no longer works and cannot be installed. Anyone know how to fix this?

Mine keeps buffering every 2-4 seconds. I get the "commercial" with virtually
no problem but when it comes to watching a video, news broadcast, or tv show it
plays for about 2 seconds then it stops and starts buffering, (I guess it's
called buffering) then plays another 2-4 seconds and starts buffering again. I
have tried uninstalling the player and re-installing more times than I can
count but still doing same thing. Does ANYBODY have an answer? It seems there
is no way we can get away from having to have the Adobe Flash Player in order
to view flash content (I think everybody uses it). And, as such is the case
why can't somebody come up with a fix for the problem?

I've found this forum 100% useless if you are looking for answers to problems.

There is nobody here that knows squat about Adobe Flash player.

Good Luck.

I too was unable to re-install Flash. I tried all the solutions here on these
forums and at the Adobe site unsuccessfully.
Finally, I since I had both Norton and Pareto Logic anti-virus programs
running, I shut down the Pareto program, then I closed everything I thought
might be using Flash and followed the procedure given at the Adobe site to (1)
un-install Flash and all components, (2) download Flash from the Adobe site.

Amazingly, after some 20 seconds, It was loaded and working.

I got the Uninstaller from (rather than using "Add/Remove" in Control Panel)
Adobe used it then reinstalled it. seems to be working again. I found an
article that helped: It's alot about Firefox but there is info on IE too and
some links

I don't know if this will help but I was having the same problem, finally I
just did a system restore. All of this just started during the week so I
restored to last week and its working fine now. I don't know how long it will
last but at least I can view all the sites I couldn't before.

I think that I speak for many as I had to join this forum to voice my extreme
displeasure at the way that this new update has severely curtailed my online
experience. Adobe should just own up to the fact that their update is faulty
and they should seriously sit down and come up with a solution that is quick
and easy without having to mess with registries, workarounds that do not work,
etc.. I personally don't see what the hangup is as there were at least 9
previous versions of Flash Player that worked almost seamlessly for most
people. In the past month or so, I have installed and uninstalled Flash Player
so many times utilizing the various methods described in the troubleshooting
for IE (I'm now running IE8) that I welcome some fledgling company of
programmers to introduce a product that puts Flash Player on it's butt.
Seriously, there must be some kind of software patch or update that can
alleviate this problem as there are far too many users having this problem.
This is shameful and very unprofessional and will influence my future use,
purchases, and recommendations of Adobe products and services. "COMING SOON! We
are updating Adobe Forums with some new features to create a better experience
for everyone." should read "COMING SOON! We are updating Adobe Flash Player and
working to overcome Troubleshooting Issues with some new features and
WORKING/EASY-TO-INSTALL FIXES to create a better experience for everyone." Take
note as this issue is leaving a very bad taste in many Adobe users' mouths. I
hope that something is done soon so that I and many others can move forward and
put this stumbling block behind us.

SUCCESS, finally i have been able to install Adobe Flash Player 10 on my Vista
Ultimate notebook. I tried everything recommended by Adobe on their support
site, logged in as local Administrator, downloaded the uninstaller, downloaded
the Flash installer, download SubInACL from Microsoft to fix permissions, tried
installing older Flash versions, debug versions nothing worked. Finally i
downloaded a free utility program 'Process Monitor" from www.sysinternals.com.
This program traps process messages and I started logging before running the
"Install Flash Player 10 ActiveX.exe" program. When the install failed i
stopped the procmon logging and searched for 'Access Denied' which brought me
to Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{D27CDB6B-AE6D-11CF-96B8-444553540000}.
You can right click and "Jump To" the registry key directly (a very nice
feature in ProcMon). I checked the permissions and Administrator had full
permissions but somehow the installer was still denied access. MS has added
some new TrustedInstaller to Vista/Win2008 which may be causing the problem.
Anyway, I just set Everyone to full permissions and re-ran the Flash
installation and BINGO, IT WORKED! (After only 2 weeks of trying to get Flash
installed). Hope you find this helpful, jaga

Did everything for registry rights and nothing worked, then took a
shot at installing a older version 8 which installed without error,
and then it allowed 10 to finally install from adobe main site.

Thanks man. I had tried to use version 9 and was still getting an
error. Saw your post and tried 8. Then updated and it worked like a
charm.
