work with xp... follow the same as if you were to with "vista 32 bit"
I went through the installation process and received a message that the Flash
Player was successfully installed, but the Flash Player does not work.

This might be extremely simple (but I was having the same problem that
everyone noted and tried everything to no avail). After beating my head against
the wall, I looked at the add-ons that were being used for IE. I noticed that
some of the Adobe add-ons were disabled (specifically the one with Flash and
Active X. So I enabled them and I was inmediately able to view flash player
files. I rebooted the computer a couple of times and it still held true. Then I
decided to disable the add-ons once again and voila! - I could not use the
flash player again.
Anyways, hope this helps someone else and that it is not temporary.
By the way - I am running regular Windows XP
