I just came across this good news for all Flash-Lite developers. The BBC
launched a service in the UK called Mobile Headlines Tracker .
It uses Flash-Lite 1.1 to render the UI. More info can be found here:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/help/4457508.stm

It is good to see that big corporate companies start benefiting from new
mobile technologies like Flash-Lite.

Best regards

I want the Java MIDP version for my nokia 6230i mobile.

I tried txt NEWS and browsed to the URL they give. All I get is news browsing. No application download. Have i missed something?

You used the wrong keyword and shortcode:

"To get the headlines tracker send a text to 88822 and start the message with
the word HEADLINES. We will send you back a link which you can use to download
the application"

If you have a Nokia 6230i you will get the MIDP2 version.

Cheers, Can you help me please.

I downloaded and the application works. However I am having difficulty
accessing data. My GPRS settings are downloaded straight from o2 and the
browser works obviously as I just downloaded the application.

The connectivity check failed though ("your phone doesnt seem to be able to
connect to the internet" is displayed) . It recommends contacting my service
providor which would be o2. I am on o2 pay n go. What would I be saying to them?

Hi Tezler,

maybe this can help you:
http://www.mobizines.com/getstarted/java.htm

This page has all the settings for the UK operators. Sometimes phones are
pre-configured for WAP access but
NOT with the right settings that the Java VM needs to receive data over the
internet.

On some devices/networks Java needs to be configured manually. See quote:
"After setting up a new access point, please also set it as default if
possible, or make sure that Java is setup to use it in your phones java
settings."

Cheers David.

I clicked on the Nokia link and got the settings delivered again. They were
recieved on the device and I clicked "set as default access point". The
application still states unable to use internet though after prompting me to
"allow network access".

As for java settings. Can't find those!

Can somehow o2 prevent users from using GPRS unless its via the browser?
because at the minute that seems to be the problem?

Thanks for your time
