I cannot install Fontographer. When I click SetUp I receive the following
message: 'The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft
Windows applications. Chose 'Close'.....' Any ideas?

Any information? What OS do you use in your monastery?
What version of FOG did you try to install?
(My crystal ball is currently in repair.)

I have no problems in accessing the knowledge base article. Did You really
enter the >>full<< link? Maybe You just clicked the link in my previous
posting. Some newsreaders do not mark the full link given by me as a link
but only part of it. For expample my newsreader shows only the part until
the first semicolon as a link (and uses only this, if clicked) and cuts of
the ";en-us;324767"...

I get the 16 bit error as outlined in the other posts in this thread. I
installed it on a Win 2003 server.... no problems, then just did my work on a
remote window... I hadn't had need for a new font in a couple of years....
I've created the font I need... so I'm done... btw... I needed a dotted line
font for my children to learn to write... you know the kind... teaching em the
letters

Greetings Everyone,

I could not get Fontographer to run on my system (XP 1G memory). Tried
installing in safe, didn't help. Kept complaining that there was not enough
memory to run. Came across a program called Resplendent Resolver at
http://www.resplendence.com/resolver. It's been discontinued as un-needed,
so it's free. It works by lying to the problem programs about computer. As
soon as I told Fontographer I only had 200MB virtual memory the problems
went away. Works great now (so far).

Hope this helps.

Take care,

AP
