Hello

Would someone be so kind as to tell me how I import a bitmap image into
Fontographer? Seems easy but I wonder why I cant see the bitmap combos
I have tried. I want to bring into fontographer to trace. I have the
Fontographer manual and the Stephen Moye book. I am on OSX 10.3.8 using
Photoshop CS to save my image as a greyscale bitmap saved as a tiff (I
have a MAC) - should work, right? But I have tried all types of
combinations. I want to save a letterform as a bitmap to bring it into
the trace level. I hope I make sense. Perhaps I am doing this wrong.
Please help. Thanks!

Hi,

it's just to copy the bitmap in Photoshop and paste it in Fontographer
in the edit window of a character. It will be put in the Template
layer. Be sure to stay in the Outline layer before you start the
tracing.

Just paste is centered, and alt-paste (only paste from the menu, cmd-v
can't be combined this way with alt) is placed to baseline.

Cheers - Reuti

Hi Reuti, I just checked this post today Mar 7th. I was able to cut and
paste. I will try your alt-past suggestion. Thank you!

Hi all,
I am doing the same thing on a windows machine with PS CS2. Copy
grayscale bitmap 8 bit from PS, then paste it into the character window.
I have done this before a while ago and it worked fine..... when I paste,
I see nothing.
Is there a size constraint or something?

Thanks in advance,
Tom

Fixed the problem: I loaded PS CS (NOT CS2)and it worked fine.

????????? I guess a clipboard is not a clipboard
