I'm just getting started so bear with me...

Using the GoTo, I'm inclined to use Frame labels, but my labels (that i make from double-clicking on a particular frame and selecting "label' radio button and typing in a name) seem to correspond to the layer, not the frame. .... all labels appear with the little red flag on the first frame of the particular layer i'm in regardless of what frame I double clicked on...

thanks in advance for your help.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. I believe you have to put labels in
keyframes or else they'll go to the nearest one. Seems like I had that
problem before.

That is correct. For that matter ANYTHING that you put in a layer, whether
pasted objects, actions, labels, or comments, if there is no keyframe, blank or
otherwise, where you double-click, it is going to the nearest keyframe to the
left of the point where you double-clicked.

Not to worry, though. If there's nothing else in that keyframe (the first one,
where the label defaulted to), you can single-click on that keyframe, and then
click and hold, and drag it to where ever you want it on that layer or any other
layer.
