Stop action doesn't stop playhead

Help! I'm new to Flash and trying to get the playhead to stop on a frame.
Then a button will advance the playhead to the next frame.

What I want is to keep the same layout but have more information appear
depending on which buttons the user clicks. However, I don't want to go to
another scene and recreate the layout again.

If you put the stop in a keyframe it must work. If youare exporting in author
mode you have to select "Enable Frame Actions" and "Enable Buttons" (Control
Panel).

Hi all,

I got a movie with several stop frames(in a action-only layer) and at every
key-frame a button to start playing again. No big deal there.
but in one particular frame the 'stop' command refuses. there is nothing
specific about it the movie just runs right through it.
Anyone have this before...and is there to do about it?

That's not a bug, there is (was) a movie clip that TT's the main to
play. Show me a bug where stop doesn't work and I'll show you pilot
error.
