I have the document in MS Word and am using a flipping book component for
flash. I can upload a jpg for each page or a swf file. I wonder if there is a
tool to automate the creation of individual page files. Does anyone know
anything about the subject. For a newbe like me the instructions are pretty
tough to understand.

That is what I did at first but I will be inserting the result in to a Joomla module and the creator of the module says my problem is the flashpaper. Thanks for the advise, however.

It allows people to convert pdf to flash page book.
First convert MS word to pdf and then use kvisoft flip book software to create flipbook
