Does anyone know how to make an animated GIF in FW3 which would rotate
around its longitudinal/vertical axis (ex: like the Earth)? Thanks

You'd need a 3D rendering program to do that.

well yes and no. what you need are a couple of images say of the earth in
different positions to make it rotate, then just make an animated gif. you
can find pics on some of the image galleries on the net. Just depends how
hard you are willing to look. maybe the NASA archive..

Linda is correct though that for best results you need a 3d program, rotate
the earth in that program in 5-6 positions, render them out and then bring
them into FW. Again make an animated gif.

Gees I cant beleive I am telling people to make animated gifs!!

What you should be doing is using dynamic clipping methods, not only do you
save on file size but you overcome many of the restriction of animated gifs.
Stayed tuned for a comprehensive tutorial on clipping techniques & get ready
to say goodbye to swapping images & animated gifs :-)
