Hello,

We urgently need to merge four Drumbeat .edf files into one .edf file.
We can not find any documentation on how to do this, please HELP.

Thank you,

You could try to open drumbeat 2 times and then copy the items from the one
edf to the other, althoug it is not adviseable because drumbeat get
unstable!

But that only work on some machines mine wont allow multiple open drumbeat
apps!

To do this do not click on the edf file in explore. Open drumbeat via
the start menu then when it list what files you want open. Start the
second instance of drumbeat then open the files via this menu one at a
time

good luck and make a back up of the edf's...........

This is simply not possible on my computer! The 1st open drumbeat pups down
and opens up again if i try to open another drumbeat session!

Thank you for the quick replys!

I am not clear on how the .edf file from one Drumbeat instance is moved into an
.edf file in the second Druumbeat instance. I am apologize for the basicness of
my request.

Are you opening it fully then trying to start the second instance of
drumbeat?

You need to open the second instance of db when only the menu list is
open not the actually edf. After the edf file is load it's to late if
you did not have the other menu list open.

If you don't get this site selection menu of choices when you start db.
Load up drumbeat then select file then select preferences the select
drumbeat menu option then put a check next to site selection dialog box
on startup.

Simple use copy and paste

sort like copying from notepad to drumbeat or whatever

It is not basicness because drumbeat has a lack of functionnality there!

You can do this in any normal way but a workaround is to open drumbeat 2
times and cut and paste all the needed pages/objects!

Right now I have two instances of Drumbeat open with two menu lists on the
screen, all of my .edf files appear in both lists. Where do I go from here to
copy the .edfs into one file?

Open the two separate edf's so you have to db running then select copy
and then click on the second db then paste

do not open the same edf a word of warning.

I too am at work on this beautiful Sunday. :(

Everytime I try to paste into the second instance of Drumbeat it crashes
and says that an illegal operation has been performed. This is really
fustrating.

Could be a ram problem but as i said it is very unstable!

Yes a beautiful sunday afternoon.

I'm only able to keep two db open only for a couple of minutes as we
said this is not supported but it does work but not good

I'm running a p3-500 with 128 ram

I wonder if you could do this in Access. It would be tricy, but if you could
get a handle on how your site was laid on in their, you might could cur and
paste in Access. But don;t blame me if it goes wrong. Make backups to work
on.

Ray I've played around with what you've suggested, more out of curiosity,
I'm kind of developing a tool for managing my stored proccedures /
recordsets / content tables / pages / etc...... ( and copy stuff between
.edf's) by connecting to the edf, as well as my project database (SQL 7 ),
but it's rather involved, unless you'r quite familiar with databases, I'd
rather not tamper with the .edf.
But hey often it's only by being adventurous that we learn, just make
back-ups !!!!
