I have developed a multimedia CD-rom with lots of Sorensen compressed
video, using Quicktime 3.0.

The project was developed in director 5.0 on a mac, I then transfered it
to a PC, opened it in Director 6.5, inserted the videofiles once more
using the insert Media Element function, and created a projector which
included QuickTime Asset.x32 Xtra, MIX32.X32, Sound Import Export.x32,
SWADCMPR.X32 & SWASTRM.X32. The project is playing when I run it from my
harddrive, but when I make a cd......

When I play the projector on a mac (using the old 5.0 dir-files)
everything is working, but when I try to get it to work on a PC using
the 6.5 dxr files, the movies wont play. I get no errors, it seems as my
program cant find the files (I get no sound or picture). This is when I
install Quicktime for Windovs version 3.0.2 on a newly installed PC with
Windovs 95. The funny part is that when I play the projector on an old
PC with Windovs 95 and Quicktime 3.0 everything is working. I have tried
with several versions of Quicktime but it will not work.....

any ideas??

When inserting QT3 movies into director movies, the path to the qt-clip
is wrong. Of some strange reason director codes it like an absolute path,
ie c:\projects\mymovie\qtmovies\clip.qt (or something like that)

The solution is to doubleclick the movie in the cast and there manually
change
the path to a relative, ie qtmovies\clip.qt
(if it lies in a subdirectory called qtmovies under your moviedirectory).
