Hi,

I'am a user of Macromedia Director7 under Windows. I am now working
on the creation of an user interface which gives a graphical
navigation for a serie of word and excel files.

The application is aimed to run from the user CD-ROM player and when
the user clicks on a preview of the file, then the associated program
to the extension (doc or xls) launchs itself and open the selected
document in a new window.

My problems are the following :

1/ I don't know where the user as put the word and excel application
files

2/ Is Updatestage Masterapp the right choice for this kind of work ?

Thanks you for your help.

P.S. : please answer in this group

Just my opinion, but I prefer Buddy API for this. It is free for 2
functions, $75 for 7 and $150 for unlimited. It is a great Xtra and does
this beautifully. Check it out at www.mods.com.au

No problem. I use Buddy API in about 95% of my projects. It is probably
one of the most useful Xtras out there and keeps getting better.
