I am currently putting together a prototype app for the college course I am
taking. I will be using Director to implement the prototype, but as yet I
haven't used it too much. In my prototype, I have redesigned a childrens
book in 3D and want to have the main character (Mole) react to the users
clicking. Mmmm, not very clear!
Ok, For the most part, Mole will be 'present' in a static 3D rendered
background. I want to be able to make him, say, go from one end of the
screen to the other. I want to be able to do this by clicking anywhere on
the screen, and Mole to go to that point where I clicked.
Alright, I think that's clear, but not all........
When I click somewhere on the screen, I want Mole to go to where I've
clicked, but I want to make him animated so he walks to where I've clicked.
The way I have thought of doing it, is to create a small video file from a
3D animation of him walking in one cycle, and then loop it so he walks
across the path of his journey.
The video file would have an alpha channel in it so only Mole would be
visible, and only him, on the page. Maybe on another layer.
Do you know what I mean? If not, I can try and make it a bit clearer with
some images I have created.
Thanks for any help
Dave
Are you looking for the lingo code to 1)get the mouse down position, and 2)
instruct the walking cycled sprite (film loop) to move to that position?
Cheers.

Enclosed is a rough screenshot including 2D Mole (working on 3D version).
The idea is that if I was to click on the cupboard, he would turn and walk
to the cupboard. Simple!?
See what ya think!
