I don't know if this is the forum to be posting this question on as this is
my first time here, but I'm trying to find an answer wherever I can on this.
Please offer any suggestions that you might have.

We have been using a CDROM-based training manual from Schroff Development
Corporation (http://www.sdcpro.com/sdcpublications/pb_petut2001.htm) for the
past several months. It runs using a Macromedia Director Player Projector
Skeleton to play back AVI files.

We have just recently installed an additional workstation in our department
which will not run the Player/executable properly. When we run this
"Pro2001.exe" file on the CD, it brings up a dialog box with the following
message, and fails to run:
Director Player 6.0 - This program requires at least 3MB of free virtual
memory to run.

The executable file version is as follows:
File Version: 6.5.0.0
Description: Projector Skeleton
Product Name: Macromedia Director

The workstation we are trying to run this on is a Dell Precision 620
Workstation with Windows 2000, 1024 MB of RDRAM, and a 1.5 Gb pagefile size.
So I wouldn't think that there would be an issue with virtual memory. Is
there an environment variable or registry key that needs to be modified to
resolve this error? It does run fine on all other Win2k workstations, but
this is the only Precision 620 that we have.

I've tried contacting the vendor who created this file but they won't
provide any technical help on this. They claim that they merely sell the
product and the CD files are generated elsewhere. They were unwilling to
share with me any way of contacting the creators of the tutorial CD's, so I
thought maybe I could ask for ideas from Macromedia and it's forum users as
you would be more familiar with the workings of the Projector Skeleton files
in a Windows environment.

We would appreciate any help you can offer on this.

Has anyone ever seen this message before and if so have you ever run across
a solution? The projector file is probably using a value in the registry or
doing a memory check and getting returned an invalid value or something is
my guess. But how do you solve it? Someone else has e-mailed in regards to
this indicating that they have seen a similar problem.
