Environment: RedHat Linux 3.2.3 Tomcat 4.1 JDK 1.4.1 CF (as J2EE WAR) MX v 6.1
(On my local dev box, Win XP with Tomcat 4.1.32 and JDK 1.4.1 there is never a
problem) It seems that if the 'Use spool' option is enabled for CFMAIL, any
mail sent using this method is sent twice about 80% of the time. Different
message ID's but same message. Checking the spool directory, there is only
one file created for the message and it is deleted normally. If the 'spool'
option in the admin is disabled, the problem goes away. Again, I have pulled
this exact application and placed it on my own development box running as close
to the same environment as possible and the problem never occurs. Finally, I
have seen this problem to be occuring not only on our linux development server
but also on the staging server as well.. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in
advance :)

Check the mail log files and see how many connections are made to send the
messages and at which time...
