Hey All,

I'm having a problem with MS Exchange and CF. I have an application that sends an individual e-mail to about 300-350 e-mail addresses. However, when the mail server encounters a bad e-mail address, I get the following error message:

"Error","TID=142","11/18/02","17:43:38","Failed to send the spooled mail file, X:\CFUSION\MAIL\spool\26AF.cfmail. SMTP server replied "5.5.4 Invalid Address" Moved file to X:\CFUSION\MAIL\undelivr\270F.cfmail."

The next error in the e-mail log reads:

"Error","TID=142","11/18/02","17:43:39","Failed to send the spooled mail file, X:\CFUSION\MAIL\spool\26C3.cfmail. SMTP server replied "Too many errors on this connection---closing" Moved file to X:\CFUSION\MAIL\undelivr\274F.cfmail."

And for every other e-mail it tries to send, the following is seen in the log:

"Error","TID=142","11/18/02","17:43:39","Failed to send the spooled mail file, X:\CFUSION\MAIL\spool\26C4.cfmail. SMTP server replied "No connection to mail server." Moved file to X:\CFUSION\MAIL\undelivr\2751.cfmail."

Has anyone else had a similar problem? Is there a setting in Exchange (5 or 2000, I believe we're on 2000 now) that will not close the connection when it encounters an "invalid address?" I know this is more of an Exchange question, but I'd really appreciate any help. We've configured it for relay and even though the verification of the mail server connection succeeds in CF Administrator (4.5, btw) we are still unable to send mail via CFMAIL.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Cheers,

-m
