Dear colleagues The year 2022 has arrived!  We wish you a happy teaching year. Our monthly newsletters will continue to highlight popular products and showcase new material. Keep your eye open for our free resources! Have you got a copy of Macrat’s EXPANDER SERIES? The purpose of the EXPANDER SERIES is to encourage learners to read more quickly, understand what they have read, and be able to recall what they have read or heard.    The series consists of 3 sections, with over 60 reading exercises:   (1) Reading/Comprehension Expander,   (2) Tempo Expander and   (3) Attention Expander.   Topics have been chosen to stimulate interest and to encourage further reading and exploration. If you have Grade 4 – 6 learners who struggle to read with comprehension, then this series is a wise investment for you. 	Next month is the month of love. Let’s have some fun!   Would you like to share resources? Send us a Valentine-related activity (Grade 1 – 7) by 1 February [macra...@macrat.co.za]. We will collate all the activities (unedited), and email the set to contributing teachers on 11 February so that you can plan your Valentine’s Day in the classroom.

The Making the Grade series provides helpful and practical information for parents of pre-school and primary school children. Available for Pre-school, Grade R, Grade 1 and Grade 4–6, these invaluable booklets were written by experienced teachers who understand the concerns of parents. Available in English and Afrikaans.
