Michigan Campaign to End Homelessness (MCTEH) 2024 Summit on Ending Homelessness SESSION PROPOSAL FORM Summit Date: October 29 & 30, 2024
Are you thinking about submitting a session proposal for this year’s annual Homeless Summit? In our original email, we neglected to tell you where to send your session proposal. Please send it to Jeanine Yard at ya...@michigan.gov You still have time… Deadline for submission is Friday. June 28. The annual Summit on Ending Homelessness provides a forum for federal, state, and local government, service providers, funders, and people with lived experience to share best practices in ending homelessness. This two-day event allows time for networking and collaboration for case managers and administrators who are diligently working to improve the welfare of people in Michigan who are living in poverty and homelessness. After three years of holding the Summit virtually we are excited to return to the Lansing Center in Downtown Lansing, October 29-30, 2024. This year’s Summit theme is Turning the Tide: Collaborative Strategies for Ending Homelessness, and we are seeking session proposals that align with and further the goals and strategies of the MCTEH 2023-2025 Action Plan to End Homelessness: 1. Increase the amount of safe, affordable, and accessible housing. 2. Homelessness prevention. 3. Collaborate with local and statewide systems that are crucial to preventing and ending homelessness. 4. Improve equity within the homeless response system. 5. Authentically engage people with lived experiences of homelessness or housing insecurity. 6. Use data to measure progress and create accountability. Session Guidelines: · Sessions will be 60 or 75 minutes. · Information provided in the form will be used to apply for CEUs from NASW. · Presenters are expected to register and will be provided with code to receive a comped Summit registration. · Proposals should demonstrate how the audience will be engaged in the session. · MCTEH is committed to improving equity within the homelessness system and reducing racial disparities among households experiencing homelessness. We seek to develop a conference that represents the diversity within Michigan and strive for equity and inclusion. Proposals are expected to reflect this commitment. Session Proposal Deadline: 5 p.m. Friday, June 28 Interested presenters should complete the session proposal form below and the conference planning committee will review all proposals and notify applicants if their sessions have been selected.
