The Annie E. Casey Foundation invites child welfare leaders and practitioners to a webinar on new Medicaid changes that can help states support the health of young people reentering their communities after incarceration.
Collaborating to Support Youth Returning From Incarceration: What Child Welfare Leaders Need to Know About Medicaid will be held on Wednesday, March 4, at 2 p.m. ET. Participants will learn about:
how recent Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program policy changes allow states to provide required services such as screenings, assessments and case management before and after release; how these changes can improve access to physical and behavioral health care for returning youth, including those who are in foster care and young adults who have experienced foster care; and - why collaboration among child welfare, juvenile justice and Medicaid agencies is essential to stronger reentry planning.
Participants will hear from: - Elissa Gelber and Liz Buck, senior program officers at the Center for Health Care Strategies; and
- Joe Ribsam, director of child welfare and juvenile justice policy at the Foundation.
