De La Salle Varsity Swim Team

I am a parent of a senior swimmer from De La Salle.  Why aren’t we listed on this website?  I know we are Division 2 but we have boys that are making State cut times all over the place and we are not being listed anywhere?  What do we have to do to get our boys success acknowledged.  Please let me know.

Mrs Witkos,

With all due respect, DLS is listed on the 'In the Wake' portion of
the website. I will admit the times have not been updated since the
County Meet, but if you will notice the bottom of the 'In the Wake'
page, it is the responsibility of the Coaches to let us know about the
times being posted by the teams through out the county. I have talked
to Joe, and he has only sent times to me once this season. Because DLS
is one of the top teams in the county, I asked the DLS administration
for access to the DLS website (I was hoping to find some results).
After explaining the reason for my request, the DLS administration
denied my request.

My goal in starting this website was to showcase the wonderful
swimmers and divers we have in Macomb County. When I started the
Macomb County Swimming and Diving Blog, I expanded it to include
information on all MAC teams. The reason that Romeo and Grosse Pointe
North are featured prominantly on the blogs site is simple - as the
Romeo Diving Coach, I ahve access to the Romeo results, and Mike
O'Connor, from GPN - sends me meet results for his meets as soon as
the meets are completed.

Please remember, the active participants of the Macomb County Swim
Caoches Association are not paid for the time and effort put into the
County Championship Meet, In the Wake, the All County Banquet, hosting
Division Diving, or hosting sites like this. For the athletes to
recieve proper, balanced and well deserved recognition, all it takes
is a little effort on the part of the Coaches to provide us with the
information on the Swimmers.

Several Coaches have been wonderful about sending information in. My
thanks and praise to those Coaches.

I understand that Coaches are busy, so I have told Joe that I would
be willing to use information that ws sent in from one of the DLS
swimmers or parents.
