Ocean Surveys Inc   has its sample gathering vessel tied up in Belfast today  the R/v Candu a 37 foot pontoon vessel.  Mike Engels is there, He is head of operations  for Ocean Surveys. Their plan is to gather sediment samples from  Belfast Harbor Searsport Harbor and Stockton Harbor.
I wonder if we can get the test results?

Stockton Harbor?  Are the  GAC lands  going to be industrial sprawled with new Companies?

The Cable would be installed with "HVDC"  power trenching the cable into the muddy bottom areas. Plumes?  Rocky areas?
The source of the electricity would be, he said,  windpower and hydropower.

The local harbormasters would know too.

Not enough details...help!

So...why  send the cables up Penobscot bay. Ias it simply cheaper to  further on the power with land cables?

Ron, please forward to the folks on your lists that I cannot forward to…. Let me clarify.  This work is being done by the company trying to put in the Greenline.  That is a power cable of unprecedented size proposed to take power generated by hydro power in Canada and wind power in Northern Maine and send the power by underground High voltage DC cables (that give off magnetic fields that can disrupt the ability to navigate by creatures like lobster that use the earths magnetic fields to navigate).  The destination for all of this power is Massachusetts.  This proposal intends to convert Maine into a power colony of the State of Massachusetts while disrupting our ocean bottom and prime fishing grounds — and yes they are going to stir up the buried mercury to bury the cables (to the extent they bury them on rocky bottoms)!!

On the upside, they are consulting with one of the PRMS court experts (not Dr. Yeager) and using PRMS protocols to do the core sampling.

Did Phil  mean the cable would leave land in Searsport and head down bay, or vice versa?

What agencies ought we FOIA & FOAA?    ACOE  &  NMFS?     DMR &  DEP?  The fed and state energy agencies?  All of the above? the governor's energy office definitely.

How do they get to do these samples without any public process? I heard from Philip Conkling that they want to send the Greenline from
Searsport- he's working for them-
I just don't understand how they can begin this process like this.
