Hello,

I studied aerodynamics in college, but it was a while back and I don't understand everything that is happening with Machupx (acronyms used for the outputs, lifting line theory, ...).
What would be a good resource (textbook, papers, ...) to get up to speed and understand what MachupX is doing in addition to the documentation? Thanks,

Alex

Alex,
I'll let Cory answer the other questions you posted over the weekend.

I'm in the process of building a site: Aero-Academy.org where you can learn all the fundamentals of airfoil and wing theory. The airfoil section is almost complete, and I'll be building out the wing section in the next two months.

Feel free to check it out and give me some feedback about what you like and what could be improved.

Thanks,
-Doug

The two papers you should look at are Phillips and Snyder "Modern Application of Prandtl's Classical Lifting-Line Theory", and Reid and Hunsaker "A General Approach to Lifting-Line Theory, Applied to Wings with Sweep". "Mechanics of Flight" by Phillips also contains a good explanation of the algorithm in section 1.9. I'm currently working on a paper that is specific to MachUpX, which will be published in January.

Thanks

Cory

Thanks! I'll make sure to checkout the courses and take a look at the paper.
