Awards Ceremony at ACM Data Mining Camp October 15th
Rapleaf, a personalization data provider, has arranged with a Top 500 Personal Finance Site to host a Data Mining Competition at Hacker Dojo.
Teams will compete to predict consumer behavior on a Personal Finance Site (i.e. sign up for newsletter, read another article, etc.). The winning team will be adding valuable intelligence back to the company and will win a $500 cash prize from Rapleaf.
The contest will use Kaggle.com for running the competition and maintaining the leader-board. Kaggle automates the process of submitting entries and scoring them. The Kaggle site will be open for entries until Friday Sept 30th at 6 pm Pacific time. Results will be announced formally at the ACM Data Mining Camp on Saturday Oct 15th.
We will meet as a group on two successive Saturdays (Sept 10 and 17) to kick the contest off, help people form teams and to facilitate collaboration. Food will be provided for all attendees.
