Dear Class,

There will be a free class at the Hacker Dojo on Sunday Jan. 23 for those who haven't ever used R before.  It will be a gentle beginning.  It is mainly for those starting Machine Learning 101.

The class will be a basic introduction to the statistical language R. It will start out with the built in help functions. A brief description of the data structures and their attributes along with examples will be given. Examples of the standard arithmetic operators on these structures (including matrix manipulations) will be provided. A discussion of logical operators, comparisons, and control structures, leads into examples of user defined functions in R. The session will end with a demo of various graphics functions.

Regards, Tricia

Dear Stephen,

Thanks for the catch ... 10 AM

It will just be a simple intro... nothing fancy

Has Patrick used R before?

I think that anyone who has used R for one day would know as much as I plan on teaching.

Regards, Tricia
