Journal and old mystery photos

This is kind of weird. The Apple Journal app just got my attention on my phone and asked me if I wanted to start journaling. Well, I really don’t, but I thought I’d play with it a little bit. So, it gave me some suggestions and up popped photos from 50 years ago that I have no idea how it got hold of. Those photos are not on my phone. They’re not in my Google Photos backup. I guess they’re somewhere in iCloud. I suppose I can figure this out, but I was so surprised that it pulled up these photos from 50 years ago that I haven’t seen in 30 years. Have any of you had this experience?

Figured it out. These photos are shared with me and are owned by others. If I open the photo on my iphone and save it, the copy is now in my photo library and is synced with Google Photos.
