Just figured out that if you tend to make online purchases using your Mac, you can get the full 2-3% reward of ApplePay at many websites rather than the 1% associated with Apple Card. You can do so but using only Safari and assuming that you have added your Apple Card to your wallet in your Mac’s settings. The first image is checking out with Chrome, the second is using Safari on a Mac.


It is possible to use ApplePay on Windows and non-Safari browsers on a Mac, but only if the ApplePay button is offered at check-out and if you have an Apple mobile device handy. Your non-Safari browser will allow you to check out via a QR code and an iOS device as discussed here.
I was not ablle to get the QR code method working at
Walgreens.com. Using Safari on a Mac or using an iOS device are the only ways to use ApplePay at
Walgreens.com. I would assume that this is true for many other online vendors.
