form data + json + mach-ii

So this may be a really stupid question but I can't figure out - I was using ColdFusion's rest services - and it worked fine until something wonky happened with my shared hosting environment. Instead of relying on ColdFusion's feature, I'm using Mach-II for my apps, and am creating endpoints (via views and blank templates). It works fine but for some reason when I reference a page in the app via Ajax - i see form data going to the page, but for some reason it's not recognizing the parameters unless I use the form scope. Is there a way around this?  I don't want to create a utils function to parse through the form values or GetHttpRequestData().

Never mind. I forgot to add since this was used for access="remote" 

<cfargument name="event" type="MachII.framework.Event" required="true" />

sorry for the stupid question, but asking everyone helped me figure it out quicker.
