Anyone have any luck sending mail using the gmail smtp server?

IIRC (and a google confirmed it), gmail requires TLS connections. This
is not supported by cfmail unless you are on CF8. See the new cfmail
attributes here:
http://livedocs.adobe.com/coldfusion/8/htmldocs/help.html?content=basiconfig_11.html

We'll be updating machblog to support SSL and TLS for sending mail.

Best,
Peter

Great, Timely Question. I was working on getting Google Apps setup for
my website.

Well this is even better that means that nothing has to be modified for MachBlog :)

.  Doesn't look like an attribute for connection type exits in CFMAIL
for cf8.

Yeah, I was typing a message.  CFQuickDocs.com is wrong - it has old screen scraps of the livedocs  right now.  All you need to do is:

<cfmail ... useTLS="true" .. />

wammo and you're done.
