Lady Macbeth is the most powerful character in this story. She has no humanity and doesn't care for anything, as displayed in her opening scene. Her role in the plot of this story is to guide another character to impact the story. Lady Macbeth attempts to drive her husband to commit murder in an act of desperation. Her plan backfires subsequently as her husbands cruelty and her own self guilt take their toll. This kind of sends her into a psychosis
