Macbeth,

If you value your life, or the value of the life around you do not kill Duncan. If you go through with the murder and are able to reap the benefits then the guilt, regret, sorrow, and anxiety will reap your souls and mind. Remember your wife, the one who convinced you to do this atrocious deed? She is power crazed and selfish, thinking only of herself as paragon. All that interests her is being in power and she will do all she can to get that power. Using you as her pawn she is attempting to use you as a tool to increase her own power and rule. You have a better chance asking for the crown than being optimistic that your wife will hand it over, especially after it has slid into her grasp. This decision is too powerful to only think of it's consequences in the present, you must think of the future.
