I am trying to install M2 fresh on a new computer running macOS 26.5.1 on Apple Silicon. After installing Homebrew and following the installation directions for installing M2 via Homebrew when I run M2 in the terminal I get the following error:

dyld[19587]: Library not loaded: /opt/homebrew/opt/flint/lib/libflint.23.0.dylib

zsh: abort      M2

I tried reinstalling flint and Macaulay2 via brew, but this did not change the issue. Sorry if this is a silly user error.

Best,
Juliette

This is almost certainly not user error, but a dependency issue with the new version of flint, which was just released yesterday.  We'll rebuild the Macaulay2 homebrew package and it should be ready to go in a few hours.

We've finished updating the homebrew package and it should be working again now.

Hi Doug,

This seemed to have fixed things. Thank you so much for the quick response and fix.

Best,
Juliette
