Problems with installing Macaulay2 on Windows 10

Hello!

I've followed every step here: http://www.math.uiuc.edu/Macaulay2/Downloads/Microsoft-Windows/Cygwin/, but get the following errors:

What I've done:

1. Downloaded 64-bit version of Cygwin (https://cygwin.com/install.html), called "setup-x86_64.exe"
2. Downloaded "Macaulay2-key.data" (http://www.math.uiuc.edu/Macaulay2/PublicKeys/Macaulay2-key.data)
3. Start CMD, typing "setup-x86_64 -K Macaulay2-key.data" (Both have been downloaded in the same folder, and before typing the command i changed directory to that folder)
4. Cygwin starts up, as a result of this, and i get the errors previously shown

I hope anyone here knows how to help me! :)

Hi,

I don't have much experience with Cygwin, but I noticed that in the directions it says, " It is important to start setup-x86.exe with the full path to the public key file Macaulay2-key.data..."  Try that first.  Also, it says Macaulay2 has been compiled for the 32 bit version of Cygwin, and setup-x86_64 looks like the filename for a 64 bit version.

You should be aware, though, that the Cygwin version of Macaulay2 is rather out of date (2013), as there are several longstanding bugs:

There has been a report that a new feature of Windows 10 may allow the installation of the (up-to-date) Ubuntu version of Macaulay2 under Windows 10:

I haven't tried this myself, but here are the installation instructions for this feature:
