Hi everyone,

what is the current best practice to display special characters and formulas in SimpleDoc?

Many years ago "\{ "would display as "{" but now it displays as "\{" (probably for good reasons)...

Greetings,
Chris.

You can use normal latex notation $...$ or $$...$$, for instance see the documentation for Truncations which is sourced from here. There are even a few default macros available, and maybe eventually each package could add its own macros.

Hi Mahrud,

thanks for your quick answer! Unfortunately I have tried this and unfortunately it does not work. Probably I am doing something else wrong. Here is a sample of my documentation:

beginDocumentation()

doc ///
    Key
        Darboux
    Headline
        Darboux integrability
    Description
        Text
            This package checks Darboux integrability
    for plane autonomous systems and
    helps to construct Darboux integrable systems. $d\omega$
///

end
---

I attach a picture of the corresponding page in the browser:

Greetings,
Chris.

This looks like a Safari/macOS problem that I've seen in this group before. Could you try opening that URL with Chrome or Firefox instead?

It works in Chrome! Does this mean I have to do something to my Safari-Browser?

Indeed, it is ok in Chrome!

I have attached the file. You think I have to change something in my Safari Browser?

I don't use Safari so I don't know. There is an open issue about this here: #2032

Thanks, that looks exactly like my problem.
