Hi Terry/Ricky,

Do you have the sched for the tournament proper already? I guess starting at Tuesday (May 24)  and ending at Saturday (May 28) is a bit too long for us to be out of office.. If the tournament proper will be held in the last 2 days, that would be better for us.. Also, will there be a separate sched for recurve and compound so we can have the chance to shoot both,,

Hi PANNA and fellow Pinoy-Archers,

Just want to ask who are "the national pool athletes that are mandated by psc to join the Bacolod tourney"?  Steph and I were told by sir Ricky  (through phone call) that we are part of the developmental pool but we haven't received further instructions since the end of last year. Please enlighten us.

Thank you,
Iris

Hi Art,

In the recent PSC Board resolutions (February 2011), I think the new dates for National Games in Bacolod will be in May 30 to June 5. Maybe this explain why PANNA can not give the exact date of our competition due to new dates. These dates are already final and approved by PSC Board unless superseded by a new PSC Board resolution.

Hi Terry/Reicky,

Yes will appreciate an advance notice of schedules of dates of competitions for us to make arrangement of our business appointment and vacation leaves for some of us who are employees.

Thank you,

Fermin

Thanks for the clarification... Will this event be open for everyone or only for the national Pool? Will this be a qualifying event for the SEA games or evaluation tournament for the national pool? Sana ma klaro ito para di naman masayang ang practice and investment namin kung saling pusa lang pala kami... thanks...

Hi Art,

Now I am not sure if the dates I got from PSC board resolution is correct. I heard the dates is still as the same as before (May 23 to 29) but nobody can really say for a certain.

I apologize for the confusion kasi I am also confuse when is the date of the POC-PSC sponsored P-Noy National Games.

Below is an news article regarding the P-Noy National games in Bacolod

Sorry Art.

Bacolod City and Negros Occidental will be the hosts of the first-ever P-Noy National Games to be held on May 23-29,2011. The 1st P-Noy National Games 2011 is the preparation for the forthcoming Southeast Asian (SEA) games to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

"This was confirmed by Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) chairman Monico Puentevella following a meeting with Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman Ritchie Garcia and Games and Amusement Board (GAB) chairman Monju Guanzon." said PNA.

"An estimated 3,500 athletes, 550 coaches and 450 sports officials are expected to arrive during the event."

Bacolod City as well as cities of Talisay and Silay will host different games such as basketball, volleyball, boxing, taekwondo and other several games.

"PSC chairman Garcia said he will be meeting with local chief executives of various local government units in Negros Occidental that will play host to various games to discuss the needed preparation for the sports event."

I am not actually asking the questions for myself but for the majority members of this forum who are also less informed. Your clarification will help all the potential archers to know what to do. Timely, accurate and informative INFORMATION is all that the archers need in order to make the necessary preparations for everyone who would like to join the tournament..

We should not always assume that once the event is told to few people, everybody will know about it outright. For all we know, there are many more who are interested to join these events but are not informed properly, hence, very few are participating.
Thanks for the updates. I hope, more details from the organizers will follow soon..

I urge my fellow archers to support PANNA and be counted in May in Bacolod/Talisay.. See you there...

Best regards,

Art

Hi Art,

Will try to answer some of your questions:

These are some of the agenda relayed to us by PANNA in Triple A after the April 2-3 Evaluation.

1. Is it open to all?  yes it is open to all. No pre qualification since this is a POC-PSC sponsored National Event
2. One Day FITA? Yes it will be a one day FITA format, for both recurve and compound plus Olympic Rounds for Individuals and mix teams.
3. Qualification or evaluation? Both yes. It is evaluation for the "formed" National pool archers for the SEA Games. Archers selected should maintain their slots in the national pool (top 4) and if  new archers out scores any member of the national pool, he/she might be replaced for the National Team for SEA Games. Qualifying too because anybody who scored 1360 plus might be sent to World Championship in Italy and/or World Cup in Shanghai, China in September.
4. Tournament Venue: Talisay(?)
5. Pre registration is required. Register in PSC given website.

Hope these will give clarity to some of your question.

But of course PANNA reserve the right to change some of these statements because this is all unofficial. We will just have to wait for the official announcement.

FYI
