This is a reminder that our next planning meeting is tomorrow:
MACG Equity Campaign Lobby Day
PLANNING MEETING!
Tuesday, April 2nd

We are working in sub-groups to cover various tasks for the day. We will be meeting at the same time and place each week up until the campaign (unless otherwise noted).

The Missing Link in Prison-to-Community Transition

My son Patrick Stupfel is the PCC intern (2nd term ) for Alissa Keny-Guyer at the Capitol offices. He reports Alissa has been working with MACG and will be helping.
Patrick and Griffin of PHOENIX will be having a relational in Portland some time before then (next Friday on his day off, perhaps, Griffin?)
Patrick took a day of community organizing training at NAYA (Native American Youth and Family Center) I put on with the gracious help of Dick Harmon, PHOENIX, and PYEC (Portland Youth and Elders Council of the native american community) .
Maybe I could get the day off work on May 9th and quietly go down to Salem with the team, IF that would be alright with the action team? Please let me know.
PS .... The May 9th Lobby Day will also be my son Patrick's 21st birthday!

Attached are the Oregon Research Briefs giving heavy-duty statistics on Oregon incarceration costs/ effectiveness vs. A&D treatment costs / effectiveness. Each of the three has at LEAST a page you can look at to get an idea, in case you get push-back about the effectiveness of incarceration. My preference is page three of the 2003 brief, if I were to hand out only one page.....
