Software patents and Lodsys

I have no doubt that, as software people and general geeks, most have
us have been keeping a watchful eye on the Lodsys ordeal.

Big and small software companies alike are being hit with threats from
Lodsys over patent infringement, having to shell out for legal defence
and worrying about having to pay out big amounts to these patent
trolls.

Have any of you taken any kind of precautions in case things go sour
for your app/company? Or do you feel like, being in Europe, developers
are less likely to be targeted as it's more hassle for them?

Just curious to hear everyone's thoughts on this!
