The following are the racer instructions for CrosstoberFest tomorrow. If you haven't already registered and want to participate we've opened 'day-of' registration a little early at https://www.bikereg.com/crosstober#Register

------------

Welcome to the 2024 CrosstoberFest at Frey's Brewing!

On behalf of The Bluemont Connection and Sportif Coaching Group/AVC, thank you for registering for the inaugural edition of CrosstoberFest at Frey's Brewing. We have an exciting day of racing planned, and we're thrilled to have you join us.

Thanks to our amazing volunteers, we believe we’ve put together a fantastic event and can’t wait to see you on Sunday. Below are some important race day details and instructions. But first, let’s cover a few key points:

Special Instructions
  • NUMBERS ON YOUR LEFT.
  • No outside alcohol at the brewery.
  • Remember to Tip your server at the brewery!
  • Pets must be leashed at all times.
!!!Thank you to Adam Frey & Frey's Brewing Co. for hosting CrosstoberFest!!!Location

The best address to use is: 8601 Mapleville Rd, Mt. Airy, MD 21771. The brewery is located a short distance after turning onto Mapleville Rd from Route 26.

Parking

Parking is in the field on your left just after you turn into the brewery. Please follow the directions of our staff members. We have a lot of racers to accommodate, so please park as directed.

DO NOT RIDE BACKWARDS ON THE COURSE!

This is dangerous and could result in disqualification. Please, no riding backwards on the course between races or while heading to staging for your race.

Warm-Ups and Course Previews
  • The course will be open for preview starting at 7:15 AM and between races, as allowed by officials.
  • During course previews, keep the red tape on your right as you ride the course.
  • No warming up on the course while races are in progress. Doing so will result in disqualification.
  • Enter the course for course previews only at the course crossing point for the pits and do not pass any active racers during your preview.
Staging

All racers should report to staging 10 minutes before their scheduled start time (15 minutes for the 9:15 Junior races). Follow signs to the staging area marked by two MABRA feather flags. Be mindful of racers from the previous race and, again, do not ride backwards on the course to reach staging.

Pits

The double pits are located about 125 meters past the finish line. Use the designated course crossing to access the pits and please remove your equipment from the pit immediately after your race.

Heartbreak Ridge & Dollar Bill Hill

After the first pit exit, you will begin an ascent to one of the more technical sections of the course, known as Heartbreak Ridge & Dollar Bill Hill. If you want to visit this area outside of your race, please use the path on the left side of the tape marking the descent from the hill to avoid damaging any of the many saplings planted on that section of the property.

Lil' Belgians Course

The Lil' Belgians course is near the finish line and staging area. Kiddos can pre-ride at any time prior to the start of the Lil' Belgians Race.

Food and Drink

We have a variety of food and drink options:

  • Frey's Brewing will be serving Beer, Cider, Wine, Seltzer, and non-alcoholic options like soda and cold brew coffee. They also offer personal pizzas, hot pretzels, sweet potato fries, and hot dogs. Check out their full menu here: Frey's Brewing Menu.
  • Throughout the day, enjoy these food trucks:
