Does anyone know the biking condition of the CCT trail?  Can you bike from Bethesda to Georgetown?

Thanks,
Amy

Still slush / snow covered in shady sections. Thin layer of ice under
some of the slush. This was around 12:30PM today. Fine for the
adventurous rider on a cross bike, but not for slicks and a post
holiday absent mind.

If it freezes tonight I would be careful tomorrow morning.

Good luck!

Same goes for the W&OD today as of 4pm, icy/slippery in the shaded sections and then there is a center row of ice in some of the other areas. Its ok on a mt bike, but not for a road bike.

I rode into DC on the CCT this AM on the road bike (slicks). There are
a few frozen sections where the trail is still completely iced over
and extremely bumpy due to all of the foot prints in the once soft,
now frozen slush. These ice sections are mostly before you pass
through the tunnel heading to Georgetown. I was able to ride all the
way in without sliding out on the icy sections, but if you're at all
unsure, it's probably best to walk those sections.
