Rode home today:
Heading south- Capital Crescent between Little Falls and River Rd was fair. There was two small tracks on either side that were mostly ridable on a mtb. After the overpass over River Rd the Capital Crescent got really bad with 1-3" of soft slush. There were lots of ruts and people walking there. I had to walk a couple of sections. Once i got past the tunnel, it was better into DC.
The W&OD was very similar conditions from Falls Church to Vienna.
Almost all of the trails had standing water and were wet. With the forecast for tonight, i think it will be very icy tomorrow with large ruts/chunks of ice.

Does anyone knows the Capital Crescent current conditions? Can I use my road bike or mountain bike? Thank you.

Has anyone gone as far as the Georgetown Branch sections?

Personally, I've been riding slicks and just picking my way through the ice section.

The Georgetown Branch sections are basically a hockey rink.  It makes for interesting bike handling practice on 'cross bike.  Also right before Bethesda there is a tree down across the trail.  Dismounting practice!  On ice!  Fun stuff.
