Jewelbomb" and "Boys the Night Will Bury You" were written during the composition of Devotion + Doubt. Early vocal/acoustic recordings of these two songs appear in a collection of 1996 demos (released by Overcoat Records in 2000 as a self-titled album).[1]

In a 4-star AllMusic review, Michael Gallucci wrote, "Richard Buckner's follow-up to his 1997 divorce odyssey Devotion + Doubt is a more upbeat affair, with questions of faith and being tossed into the electric mix. Moving from contemplative singer-songwriter treks ('Once') to blurry guitar rave-ups ('Believer')... Yet, for all of the creeping positivity going on within the grooves, Buckner sounds more weary than ever, his already delicate voice cracking under the pressure as he trudges his way through his own brand of electric folk music."[2]

Eric Hage wrote in Trouser Press, "Since shakes off the previous outing's downer trip, with many of the tracks fleshed out into full alt-rock bluster. There's still plenty of acoustic rumination, but the album is characterized by such rave-ups as 'Jewelbomb,' 'Believer' and 'Goner w/ Souvenir.'"[3]

In the Washington Post, Geoffrey Himes is confused by Buckner's intentions for the album, saying "he throws together cryptic phrases with little thought as to whether they cohere", "his voice constantly strays from its intended path and pitch", and that he "sings in such a flattened mumble that no emotions escape other than depressed ennui."[5]

After the last update on my Android, Spotify changed so that when an album ends, the album radio automatically begins instead of just going to silence. Tbh no idea how most people feel about this, but I usually listen to music by the album - it's important to me that the album ends as the artist intended. I don't want to it to just flow into other music. Especially since I don't really use the album radio feature to begin with.

Please stop this. It's simply a horrible idea. You should make everyone who works at spotify try out bad ideas like these first and then anonymously report feedback. You would inflect less pain on your users by weeding out bad ideas and potentially bad employees with bad ideas this way. Don't be like microsoft or facebook. Don't **bleep** on your users and then respectively don't care or call it the hacker way. Step up spotify.

Haha...that's a hillarious comment drew...I don't think it works quite like that since there is a cost to play song for spotify. They'd rather us never use the service and just pay our subscription...now maybe this could be a scheme for non premium subscribers where ads are played. It still seems to be a high cost scheme in terms of eventual lost users, since for every 500-1000 plays (say at least 10 or so people annoyed) amounts to less than price of a cup of coffee (spotify pays around $0.006 and $0.0084 per play and takes only a 1/3 of that--rest goes to royalty holders).

Overall, this album is a 10/10 from front to back, giving us a diverse sense of sound that still matches who he is as an artist. He has a laid-back aura to this album that truly sets the tone for someone as subtle as he is. Having only two features is also really exciting, showing that he does not need multiple artists to create a banger. There are some specific songs that I would like to put you all onto; be sure to thank me later.

I really enjoyed listening to this song. It has such an emotional statement with a relatable story about love. The guitar in the background was just the right instrument to back up this type of song, giving a call-and-response vibe to this song. This is a song to listen to on a cool walk while you free your thoughts.

This song is one of my personal favorites off of the album. This song highlights his R&B side, enlightening high vibrations and smooth sensations. Whenever you need a song to spice up your night with a special someone, play this jammy jam.

It has been almost 6 years since my last album. In 2013, at the time of my last release, I decided that I would wait a very long time before releasing another one, because Look Up, was my sixth album. To some of you, 6 years may have seemed long enough or too long, but the truth is I was planning on waiting much longer before releasing another album.

I always tell my wife that we should hold on to our plans loosely, because we never know what can happen or how things can change and in this case, things definitely changed. Not too long after releasing Look Up, I was approached by Yolanda and Schubert Palmer, from Heart and Soul Ministries and given a commission to write scripture songs for a multi media Bible study covering a range of biblical doctrines. Now with more than 100 songs and almost 6 years later, I realized that I have enough music for several albums. This one is the first of at least 2.

I am calling it By The Word, which is the title track on the album. There are 14 songs in all and they cover topics such as creation, the Holy Spirit, the Gospel, Praise, the resurrection and the second coming of Jesus. In the passed I was very intentional about including scriptural themes in my music, but now I am actually singing the verses word for word and because the Palmers wanted the listener to know where in the Bible the verses can be found, I am also singing the book chapter and verse at the end of each song as well. This is definitely the first time I have done a project like this and it most likely will not be the last.

Another first for me is the fact that each of the songs are accompanied by an orchestra. This album has more of an inspirational sound to it, a genre I never thought I would explore. The truth is that many of my first attempts at these songs were rejected because they were too contemporary sounding, but as I kept working at it, I must say that I have grown to appreciate many of these songs a whole lot more than I thought I could. Occasionally, I hear my wife and son singing these songs while going about their day and I believe you may find yourself singing these songs not too long after hearing them. Music is a wonderful tool we can use to memorize, so why not use music to assist us with hiding the word of God in our hearts? This is what I am doing and I am hoping that this album will help you to do the same. To listen to samples of By The Word and to purchase it, Go here.

Hi Brian, So good to hear from you! How wonderful it is for me to find out that my music has been a blessing to you and your family all these years.

One day, I hope to visit your country. I have heard that it is very beautiful. Please say hello to your family for me since I am a household name.

Hi. I'm not sure if you've already figured out a solution, but thought I'd add something since there was no final solution. I was having trouble with the same issue and then saw the first comment spoke about the 3 dots on the top right. It used to be visible, however it isn't anymore.

I just tapped the random space I thought was nothing on the top right and the 3 dots appeared and there were options to move pictures into other albums. I'm not sure why those 3 dots are hidden when they really are there. I hope this helped. I might be a little late to the thread though.

Go into your gallery where you can see all your pictures. Once there press and hold down on one of the pictures you are wanting to move until you see a small circle appear in the top left of every photo. Tap all the photos you were wanting to move, you will know what is selected by the circle being white instead of grey. Once the photos are selected look to the right of your screen and there should be a media emblem and to the right of that 3 dots. Click the 3 dots and on that menu you should see the option to move to an album. Select that option and then select the album you would like to move it to. Let me know if this helped!

You can go to settings, then apps, then find gallery (tap on the word gallery), then on the bottom left of screen you will see the word open, tap that then you can move the way you did before the update. Easier way than going through the my files app. They made something easy more difficult.

Thanks for the reply! The craziest thing - it must have fixed itself in an update, because the last time I tried, it didn't work. Went in to try your suggestion and the three dots and the "move" feature are back. Weird.

@StenoChris yep no problem. I just went in now to see that the 3 dots are back. It must have been the software update this morning like you were saying. I was hoping that it was going to fix that issue and looks like it did. :

I should maybe add this point : Sonoma is installed on our 3 family Macs since several months, and that we had (also with previous MacOS version) the same problem from time to time: sync OK with iPhone, but no sync with Mac OS.

Thanks a lot! I had the same problem, but now it worked after following your suggested steps. But I am curious why it is important to wait for 10 minutes in Step 2. If I only waited for 1 minute or so, it didn't work for me...

Contrary to the beliefs of many middle-American supermarket-goers, not all samples are free. Just ask Vanilla Ice. When he "sampled" the bassline from Queen and David Bowie's "Under Pressure," he was faced with a multi-million dollar lawsuit, rather than a complementary napkin and toothpick. Sure, nobody bats an eye when copyright law takes some money out of the shiny, rhinestone-encrusted pockets of Rob Van Winkle or Puff Daddy, but as soon as lawsuits trip up avant-hoodlums like John Oswald of Plunderphonics fame, the concept of thievery-as-art becomes a hot topic, and the line between sampling and stealing becomes fiercely contended.
