Do you need to normalise the microbial data before Maaslin2?

In Maaslin microbial data needed to be normalized: The microbial measurements are expected to be normalized before using MaAsLin and so are proportional data ranging from 0 to 1.0.
Does this need to be done for Maaslin2? Or could we use the data as received from DADA2?
Looking into Maaslin2 it seems normalization is included with TSS.

HI Joao,
I have the same question- did you end up getting a response.
I am assuming that if you are working with relative abundance you are kind of normalising the data anyway- but it is compositional data... Therefore they usually recommend transforming the data.
