Subject: Problems using Maaslin2: how to force predictors into models?

Dear Mr Huttenhower, Mrs Levesque,

My name is Valentin Partula and I am currently a PhD student at the University of Paris.

I found your contact details on the MaAsLin official website (more precisely the Huttenhower Lab website: http://huttenhower.sph.harvard.edu/maaslin), and am writing to you today to ask you a question regarding the Maaslin2 R package.

Specifically, I would like to know how to force predictors into Maaslin2 models. I had done so using the former Maaslin package, but I was not able to find how to proceed with Maaslin2. I posted on the Maaslin-users Google group, but my message remains unanswered - that's the reason why I am contacting you directly.

I have tried using the former Maaslin package, which did not work (I get error messages).

I have currently a research paper under review, for which the analyses were conducted using Maaslin (and thus with forced predictors), and I am afraid I will not be able to answer to the reviewers' comments and requests. Therefore, I would be most grateful to read your comments on that particular topic.

Thank you very much in advance for your answer, support, and help.

Kind regards,

--
